Plein Air Exhibition

Plein Air Painters of the Cape are holding their fourth annual exhibition at the Tokai home studio of artist Noeline McMaster from the 13th to the 15th February 2009.
The exhibition will be opened by journalist and wine writer David Biggs (“The Wanderer”).
The artists will take turns to paint live in the garden throughout Saturday and Sunday, giving the public a rare chance to see artworks being created and to chat to the artists as they work. For map directions to the studio, contact Noeline McMaster on 082 974 1141 or e-mail

Baboons at June's

While painting in June's garden, a troop of baboons graced us with a visit. Gerda seems oblivious to the young onlooker on the light behind her and Doreen not going to let anything break her concentration.

The artists decided to do a spot of "Life drawing" but the models were not interested in keeping still!

This curious baboon decided to have a taste of the paint on Gerda's palette!

Painting at Oude Molen

Plein Air painters are often a fascination, attracting interested visitors with many questions and well-meant advice! This four-legged nosy-parker fairly startled Lyn Northam while painting at the Oude Molen farm near Pinelands in Cape Town.
